This position is to function in the restorative nursing aide role and the coordinator role which is responsible for the oversight of the LTC activities program. This position is to ensure resident safety and ensure resident’s abilities in activities of daily living so they do not diminish unless circumstances of the individual’s clinical condition demonstrate the diminution was unavoidable. To keep the staff aware of current activities and use available volunteers. To have knowledge of the organizational structure, purpose of activity programs, understand the needs of residents, methods of motivating residents, and ability to utilize available local community resources. This position consists of 5, 8 hour days and will be responsible to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.   $25-$32/hr DOE

Under minimal supervision, applies advanced technical skills and seasoned judgment to independently and competently provide a full range of sample test analyses and laboratory services in a SEARHC laboratory. Depending on location shift work and night and weekend call may be required to provide 24 hour laboratory coverage.  Perform CLIA defined waived, moderate, and high complexity testing. Works with infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients.   The work typically involves full responsibility for all technical aspects of the laboratory and includes a wide variety of duties involving diverse and complex technical problems and considerations, i.e. procuring compatible, lifesaving units of blood for a patient with antibodies. MLT makes decisions that directly or indirectly affect the quality of patient care and can be “life or death” decisions or problems with the assistance of the MLS or Lab Manager. Assists with training of new employees during the orientation period and as directed. Assists the laboratory manager with Process Improvement activities associated with their departments as directed. Understands and assists the Laboratory Manager with implementing CAP standards and CLIA regulations in their department of responsibility. Coordinates inventory levels with laboratory manager to maintain proper supply levels. Follows policy and procedures established by the Laboratory Medical Director and the Lab Manager.

As patients are seen, recommendations may be made regarding their level of independence and rehabilitation needs which may impact services, care placement and further treatment.  The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for the contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving, and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion.  Documenting standards must be followed for continuity of care and reimbursement for services. Work at our 16 bed LTC center, providing excellent care for our residents!  Night shift opening!     Coordinates a variety of nursing care procedures for residents of various ages which requires professional knowledge and consideration of specific resident conditions and treatment. Participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other members of the healthcare team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the long term care setting.  Guidelines include physician’s orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures, manuals, hospital and long-term care policies.   Clinical decisions are made initially independently during the scheduled shift; maintains complete accountability for all actions taken.  Consults with the appropriate manager/supervisor in difficult situations requiring additional input. Able to react in a calm manner and make sound nursing judgments in an emergency environment.  Accountable for proper delegation and supervision of CNA/Tech, LPN, and/or Ward Clerk on unit during shift.
