The Clinical Applications Specialist trains and supports all users of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ancillary clinical systems. Configures and optimizes clinical content in conjunction with the medical staff in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Evaluates and improves processes to keep current with clinical best practices. Collaborates with Information Technology staff, other SEARHC teams and vendors.

The Lead Patient Access Representative is expected to perform at a higher level or generally more complex job-specific responsibilities from a Patient Access Representative. The Patient Access Representative Lead greets patients and family members in person or over the phone in a professional and courteous manner. Obtains, and verifies demographic, financial, and insurance information during the registration process, accepts point of service payments or provides guidance for payment options, and clears the patient for service delivery. The Patient Access Representative Lead is an expert role in Patient Access and will function as the team leader. The Patient Access Representative works closely with the Patient Access Supervisor or Manager to ensure goals are met for the site (locally assigned) or discipline (consortium-wide assigned).

Maintenance Mechanics maintain, repair, and install equipment and components in the hospital, health centers, or other health care facilities at SEARHC. This position completes work orders for maintenance projects and completes all assigned preventive maintenance tasks performing a wide variety of general maintenance including special projects as directed. There may be on-call assigned by the Facility Manager as required by specific campuses. The position may travel to outlying communities to perform work. This position requires working experience, knowledge and maintenance of commercial equipment and buildings used in the healthcare setting. Actions directly impact the ability for SEARHC to provide healthcare and the position is therefore a critical part of facility management‘s responsibility for ensuring all facilities and systems remain operational. This position has an intermediate level of responsibility for the overall operation of SEARHC facilities. Poor decisions or work quality can reduce the life of mechanical systems and components, which directly impacts patient care. For example, use of the wrong lubricant or failing to conduct scheduled PM on an air handler could result in a failed motor. This would cause a disruption in service.

This position is based in the Rehabilitation Services Department with a primary focus on providing general Occupational Therapy (OT) evaluations and treatments which impact patient’s functional abilities. This role will serve mostly the adult population.
Occupational Therapists are health care professionals responsible and accountable for patient assessment, evaluation, establishing a plan of care and providing therapeutic interventions to assist people of a wide range of ages, diagnoses, abilities, skills and needs to optimize their quality of life and level of independence in activities of daily living. The clinic needs to be able to inform clinical teams regarding decisions that involve OT while taking into consideration consultation provided by other care providers. As patients are seen, recommendations may be made regarding their level of independence and rehabilitation needs which may impact services, care placement and further treatment. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for the contribution to program development, quality improvement, problems solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion. Documenting and processing interventions appropriately must be followed for continuity of care and reimbursement for services.
The position may require occasional travel off site and out of town to provide services outside of the Juneau Rehabilitation Services Department. This job can involve working in a small space, at a demanding pace with a variety of people and sometimes difficult personalities and situations; good judgment, tact and personal skills are necessary for positive working relationships between patients and co-workers. This job involves potential risks that the therapist must work to avoid to the extent possible. Exposure to infectious organisms is possible; use of precautions and appropriate protective equipment is necessary. Latex may be present in the workplace. The job may require repetitive or heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds with physically demanding movements and positions; practice of good body mechanics and good judgment.
