General Description: Provides technical support to the pharmacists and the Department of Pharmacy Services and provides confidential and front-line support to customers at the pharmacy window and waiting rooms.

This position is a trainee position within the pharmacy department at Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center (MEMC) where the incumbent is trained to provide technical support to the pharmacists and the Department of Pharmacy Services. The work requires specialized knowledge, experience and skills to perform the technical work of a pharmacy and a thorough knowledge of the routine and procedures of the pharmacy department. The purpose of this position involves the preparation, review, supply, dispensing and control of medications and other pharmaceutical products. The position is essential to ensure all patients, departments and villages receive the medications they need and store them properly. All work is performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Responsible for coordinating the delivery of appropriate and timely care for patients, promoting quality and cost effective health care outcomes. Works with at risk populations and those with chronic disease(s) by providing comprehensive care coordination in clinical and home-based settings within the existing local network of clinical, home and community based services.

Provides behavioral health assessment and treatment in close collaboration with the Psychiatrist, medical providers, and the behavioral health team. Such treatment will include maintaining an independent caseload and assisting other mental health providers in their clinical treatment of patients.
This position manages the radiology program for Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center (MEMC). Assesses and monitors on-going staff training and competency. Develops and monitors radiology quality improvement activities. Coordinates with other Mt. Edgecumbe Medical Center and SEARHC departments as appropriate. Makes recommendations on capital purchases.
The Residential Support Specialist (RSS) position functions within the SEARHC Behavioral Health division to provide direct support services for clients of SEARHC residential substance use disorder and behavioral health programs.
Duties and responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring the safety and security of the facility and the program residents and direct supportive engagement with residents to provide services, support and structure that fosters a pro-recovery environment. This may include supervision of daily living activities and facilitation of therapeutic activities and groups.
This position requires an understanding of basic interventions that are effective in the treatment of substance use and/or mental health disorders. This position also requires crisis intervention skills, and effective communication skills for leading educational groups and activities with the residents. Residential Support Specialists must be able to engage in moderate physical recreation activities that support recovery. SEARHC residential programs are residential living environments with 24-hour staff. Work schedules vary and may include rotation on evenings and weekends.
As an entry-level to intermediate-level direct service position, the RSS position requires a commitment to ongoing professional development in the areas of behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and recovery. Each RSS will have a professional development track, based on individualized professional development needs. In addition, the RSS will be engaged in a SEARHC-funded, State of Alaska approved, Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP) certificate training program.

The OB/Labor & Delivery Nurse performs a variety of nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments, and ability to work independently in completing assignments. Guidelines include physician’s orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures manuals, hospital policies. Nursing duties include support to individuals of all ages and their families during their ante partum, post-partum, laboring stages, newborn baby care, and care of post-surgical C-section patients.
Utilizing after-hour call services, holidays, and weekends. On Call responds to all emergencies including trauma and fetal distress C-sections including total peri-operative nursing care. Able to react in a calm manner and make sound nursing judgments in an emergency environment. Clinical decisions are made initially independently during the scheduled shift; maintains complete accountability for all actions taken. Consults with the appropriate manager/supervisor in difficult situations requiring additional input. Accountable for proper delegation and supervision of CNA/Tech, LPN, Ward Clerk and/or PCE on unit during shift.

This position is located within the Operating Room of SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium. Has knowledge in circulating and scrub tech duties for all types of elective and emergency cases performed, including abdominal, thoracic, Urology, ENT, Plastic, Orthopedics, Vascular and OB/GYN. Multi-tasks efficiently and ensures the surgical cases proceed throughout the day in a timely manner. Utilizes after-hour call services, to staff the Operating Rooms (OR), for nights, holidays and weekends.

This position oversees the day-to-day requirements of Utilization Management & Review, authorizing acute and sub-acute admissions at the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (“SEARHC”) Mount Edgecumbe Medical Center. This position works intensively with advanced systems to track and trend denials, build models for documentation improvement plans, and coordinate with all areas and levels of the hospital. This position works closely with the provider community to improve clinical documentation, and with administration to ensure appropriate utilization of hospital resources.
Under general supervision, provides professional assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting of complex clinical data. Maintains compliance with regulations affecting utilization management. Provider communication and behavior change can be challenging; this individual must be a master communicator and change agent. Clinical background required, as this position will be required to read, rapidly synthesize, and narrate a clinical event to patients’ third-party coverage for accurate and timely authorization and reimbursement. Must be able to understand and manipulate advanced systems and work with and synthesize large relational data sets, providing descriptive/predictive/prescriptive analytics to modify facility operational behavior.
