On Call OR Registered Nurse responds to all emergencies including trauma and fetal distress C-sections includes total peri-operative nursing care. This position functions within Sitka Primary Care to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting by providing case management services to an identified patient panel   This position works within a clinical team which consists of Medical Providers, RN’s, LPN’s, Medical Assistants and other clinic staff.  The RN Case Manager is assigned to a medical provider and assumes nursing case management activities for that providers’ panel of patients.  The RN Case Manager assists patients with their short and long term medical needs by collaboratively setting medical goals.   As necessary the RN Case Manager may work in other nursing roles so departmental activities are covered on a daily basis.    Hours are generally Mon-Fri 8-5.  This role functions a a Care Coordinator.  Excellent hours, no call, and flexibility.

The WMC Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operations of Nursing Care Services at Wrangell Medical Center.  Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric.  Assures appropriate competency of all nursing personnel.  Serves as part of WMC’s senior management team; may act for the WMC Hospital Administrator in his/her absence; provides direct input regarding the organizational structure of the hospital; provides expert professional assistance to hospital executives regarding nursing-related matters; and performs other related duties as assigned.  Assists in formulating the budget for assigned departments and maintains efficient and effective departmental operations while required compliance with all state, federal and local regulations, laws, standards, and protocols.   This position describes the highest-level senior manager over nursing-related patient care within the Wrangell Medical Center (WMC) and also serves as the chief expert for the hospital regarding professional nursing issues.  The incumbent has broad responsibility and accountability for assigned programs, functions and operations and serves as a key member of WMC senior leadership team.  The WMC Chief Nursing Officer exemplifies the organization’s mission and values through nursing practice and delivery.
