Provides professional nursing care to patients of all ages from infant to elderly including after hours urgent/emergent clinic. This position functions within the Psychiatry Department to assist patients with medication refills, referrals, triage and patient education.
The position functions as the supervisor and leader of the ELMC Nursing department. The incumbent works closely with the Clinic Administrator and Medical Director to improve clinic functions and flow, enhances the patient experience, and ensures staff training and competency.
The position assumes a primary responsibility for leadership and development of the ELMC Nursing staff. This includes administrative supervision, programmatic development and continued quality improvement for clinical services. The candidate provides direction for professional development of clinic nursing staff, maintains operational aspects of the clinic in collaboration with ELMC Clinic Administrator and Medical Director, works cooperatively and closely with all ELMC department heads and staff to promote improved patient and staff satisfaction.

Maintains a clean and safe working environment including adequate supplies and upkeep of unit and equipment, reporting any defective or missing equipment and safety hazards; refers un-resolved problems with patients/coworkers/visitors to department manager or administrative manager for resolution; addresses employee concerns consistent with Human Resources Policy.

This position functions within the Front Street integrated care model to assist patients and medical staff within the ambulatory care setting by providing a variety of nursing services to all ages (cradle to grave) of patients. May be asked to work in the SEARHC Mobile Unit providing primary care medical nursing/lab services.
This position works within an integrated care team which consisting of RN’s, Clinical Assistants, Behavioral Health Clinicians, Primary Care providers, and various social support providers. This position serves a population of patients experiencing chronic and acute medical and behavioral health problems, substance abuse, and homelessness. They are responsible to perform full assessments, prioritize patient needs and patient flow, and perform skills and coordinate care as ordered by providers. In addition, the RN is expected to use critical thinking to work within standing orders to expedite care patient services. As necessary, the RN may work in other nursing roles, so that departmental functions are covered on a daily basis. To provide basic nursing care in Long Term Care to non-acute and/or acutely ill residents while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Must have the ability to react in a calm functional manner and make sound judgments within scope of duties when taking care of ill patients/residents and in the event of emergencies. Job requires lifting of patients/residents who are non-ambulatory on a regular interval. Mentally requires a caring attitude in dealing with both acute and non-acute patients/residents and families on a steady basis. Job pace is rapid and there is constant pressure on the job to complete nursing assignments and answer patient call lights. Maintain accountability for all actions taken. Accept delegation from supervising LN. This position is covered under the Indian Child Protection Act.
