Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the manager/director of radiology, this position is responsible for day to day support and maintenance of SEARHC’s imaging processes and PACS environment.  This position will make recommendations for advancements within SEARHC’s PACS environment, image routing platforms, and client implementations/integrations.  Additionally, this position will provide support for PACS and related imaging issues

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day to day support of PACS equipment including image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and pre-fetching, and other related activities. Support training of staff on use of PACS application.
  • Responsible for supporting system maintenance and troubleshooting of imaging systems.
  • Works closely with IT and clinical leadership in the development of operating standards, policies, and procedures for PACS.
  • Reviews feedback from customers, compiles and analyzes support data, and recommends procedural and educational changes as appropriate.
  • Assists strategic planning for imaging initiatives.
  • Supports activities of vendors in all phases of support and maintenance of PACS.
  • Collaborates with IT staff in support and maintenance of PACS.
  • Prepares reports for administration on all aspects of PACS operations as appropriate or directed.
  • Maintain system configuration and workflow, patient and image database, as well as the associated storage systems.
  • Maintains and prioritizes list of areas for improvement within the imaging environment. Meets with clinical and administrative leadership regularly to coordinate resolution.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associates degree in computer science, information management systems or radiology/imaging, image acquisition, workflow in all modalities is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred 
  • Registered in one or more modalities within radiology.  

Experience:

  • 3-5 years in a technical support role in a Diagnostic Imaging/Radiology setting.
  • 1-3 years of relevant imaging administration within a PACS environment.

Licensure & Certification:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certified / CT Certification (ARRT) preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possess knowledge of the radiology workflow in various modalities.
  • Possess intermediate computer knowledge
  • Highly motivated individual; willing to continually learn new functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.
  • Must be able to work effectively with diverse group of people.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging and related terminology.
