Job Overview:

Interacts with employees, patients, families, and visitors appropriately and professionally. Using excellent communication skills, the Screener will screen all visitors, patients, vendors and public entering SEARHC facilities. The Screener will identify patients, provide masks, exhibit confidence with providing instruction to visitors on hand hygiene and proper replacement/storage of cloth masks during visit, ask screening questions and take the temperature (forehead) of anyone entering the facility. Screeners will provide directions and general information regarding services.

 

You will be provided the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and social distancing will be adhered to. We will provide education and training on our protocol, equipment and COVID-19 policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for completing established COVID-19 screening procedures of all individuals seeking entry into the assigned facility.
  • Provide runner services for the site in support of COVID-19 screening procedures.
  • Adhere to strict infection prevention practices
  • Educate visitors on essential infection prevention practices to follow
  • Clean and disinfect the work areas as directed.
  • Sanitize exam equipment in between all screenings.
  • Participate in outreach and/ or quality improvement activities as assigned and directed by staff.
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties as assigned by staff.
  • Act in a professional manner reflecting the mission and values of SEARHC.
  • Support and abide by all policies and procedures.
  • May be required to rotate to other local SEARHC locations as needed.

Qualifications:

Education

 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience

 

  • Previous experience in Customer Service or Hospitality Services preferred. 
  • Prior experience working in Healthcare or as a Medical Assistant or CNA preferred 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to greet staff, patients and visitors in a pleasant and helpful manner.
  • Must be empathetic and respect others privacy.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
  • Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to de-escalate difficult interactions.
  • Work independently with little supervision and generally carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules.
  • Seeks appropriate help from supervisor or clinical staff to solve problems when appropriate. 
  • Must comply with all SEARHC policies and procedures regarding patient confidentiality.
